Home Care and Safety

https://happyinmyhome.ca - Happy in my Home, Community Support Services of Niagara is a volunteer based not-for-profit agency providing comprehensive client-driven community support services to help older adults and adults with disabilities live independently in their own homes. We take pride in the meaningful work we do that positively impacts the clients that we serve:

 

  • Seniors Health and Wellbeing Fund

  • Grocery Delivery

  • Home Maintenance

  • Homemaking

  • Snow Buddies (snow removal)

  • Lunch Out

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Safety at Home (Their trained, Fall Prevention certified team members will assess a home to help mitigate the potential of incurring an injury at home)

  • Transportation (a fee-based service that allows our team to prioritize rides to medical appointments for older adults (65+) or adults living with a disability living within the Niagara Region, that may no longer drive or cannot navigate the public transit system)

  • Friendly Visiting (a volunteer-based program where a volunteer is matched with an older adult (65+) to provide either in-person visits and/or phone chats)

  • Wellness Support (For these four buildings: 4900 Buckley Niagara Falls, 479 Carlton St. Catharines, 15 Gale Cres. St. Catharines, 211 King St Welland. The objective is to provide comprehensive support services to enhance the independence and improve the overall health and well-being of older adults at risk, in four buildings identified social housing. Services include on-site attendant care, personal care, medication reminder, cleaning the home, volunteer visiting, security reassurance checks, social and recreational programs as well as exercise and wellness clinics)
